Sunday the 17th March 2024

Location & Start times:

12km: Starting off at Latimer Square. Race starts 9am

6km: Starting off at Porritt Park . Race starts 9.45am

We love how fun the City2Surf is, after all, it is a FUN run! But we don’t forget the fact that there’s important information to know about this event. So it’s here to make sure you get the most out of this amazing day. 
Please - no dogs, bicycles, roller-blades, roller skates, inline skates, skate boards, scooters (electric or push) are allowed on the course. Prams are allowed.

If you want to drop your clothing before you catch a bus, a secure area will be available at Rawhiti Domain finish, otherwise we have clothing transport available from both start lines from the Moving Company to the finish line. Please ensure your clothing is in a secure bag. Lost pins for your bib? We’ve got you covered. Spare pins will be available at the start line.

Entry Details.

ENTRY FEES - Entries are open

NO BIB - NO RUN - NO BUS

ADULT Entry (12+):  $40 (includes bus fare)

CHILD Entry (5-11):  $20 (includes bus fare)

INFANT Entry (0-4):  FREE

When is last day to register online? You can order online up to noon on Saturday 16th of March 2024 and pick up your pack from Les Mills between noon and 5pm.

Are ticket purchases available on the day? YES – tickets can be purchased at either startline on the day for $40 – best to arrive at least 45 mins earlier to do this

Ticket prices are based on the ages as of 17th March 2024.

Infants and child entries must be accompanied by a participating adult, and are the full responsibility of the adult. Infants do not need to have a bib.

If you want to bulk order bibs (10 or more) for your business or club, then contact info@city2surf.co.nz
If you purchase entries in bulk you do not need to enter them online.
However, you can enter entries online, request an invoice, add on courier fee and we’ll send your entries out.

BIB COLLECTION

If you entered before 1 March 2024, and haven't selected the courier option, you'll need to collect your bib. If you entered after 1 March 2024 you'll also need to collect your bib. If you entered as a team, you'll need to check with your team manager to see if they are collecting it on your behalf.

YOUR GUIDE TO CITY2SURF TRAINING

TRAINING SERIES

Keep an eye out for details on our training series in conjunction with Frontrunner Colombo. This will be happening in the 6 weeks leading up to event day and you’ll get all the tools you need to train for the City2Surf. Whether you’re running, jogging or walking, we’ll get you to the start line. 

10-WEEK TRAINING PROGRAMME

Not only will we be providing you with a physical group to train with, but we’ll also be giving you a 10-week training programme for you to follow along at home. Each week, this will be available on our website, through our socials and in The Star Newspaper on a Thursday.

On the day.

EVENT TIMES AND LOCATIONS

12km Classic - 9am, Latimer Square, Christchurch CBD
Sport Canterbury 6km - 9.45am, Porrit Park – between Kerrs Road and Wainoni Road, Avonside, Christchurch
Finish Line Village - Rawhiti Domain, open from 7am - 1pm
Prizegiving - 12noon start time

Please arrive at least 40 minutes before the start time to hear our race briefing and safety information.

BUS TRANSPORT (No bib - no bus)

This year, our bus transport is again provided by Bentley Transport. Bus transport is included in your entry fee.
If travelling by cycle to the start or finish lines, security is your responsibility. 

PRE-RACE BUS - included in entry fee

Park close to the finish line at Rawhiti Domain and get the bus to either start line, or park near Latimer Square or Porritt Park and get the bus back after the event. Bus transport to start lines commence at 7.00am and depart when full. Buses depart from Lonsdale Street where signage will direct you to the pick-up point. Les Mills 12km Classic buses will drop off at the Sport Canterbury 6km start line on the way back, so split groups can ride together.

Please show marshals your bib to ride free. Wheelchair and pram access is available on buses, but please collapse them well in advance of boarding.

POST-RACE BUS - included in entry fee

If you park close to the start lines, buses can take you back there once you finish at Rawhiti Domain. These will be running from 10am-1pm and will go when full.

BAG DROP

You usually come with something to our start lines, which is why we provide a bag drop service to transport your belongings to the finish line. These are provided by The Moving Company and operate at both start lines. Your bags will be ready for collection at Rawhiti Domain. Please no  packs or large items.
LesMills 12km Classic bag drop - commences at 7.45am
Sport Canterbury 6km bag drop - commences at 8.45am
Your bib comes with a bag tag that you need to attach to your bag and fill in the contact details. We recommend not leaving valuables in your bags and you do so at your own risk. We do not provide bags to put your items into. Please, no large items like packs - you should only need a warm layer, not a whole change of wardrobe! Please also note that the start line toilets are not changing rooms - come ready to run.

The Les Mills City2Surf 2024 is a fun run so its up to you if you want to record your time.

We will have FitnessNZ finish line clocks showing the elapsed time for the 6km and 12km.

Please ensure that you wear your bib at all times on the front of your clothing and make sure it is visible at all times. NO BIB - NO RUN - NO BUS
