Here’s everything you need to know about on the day transport…

 

Bus Before the Event:

Park at McCormacks Bay 

Buse transport to both start locations will be running from McCormacks Bay from 7:15am. Park your car for FREE in the designated car parking area at McCormacks Bay from 7am  and catch the bus to your start line. Setting up your team site at Ferrymead Playing Fields? A free shuttle will run between Ferrymead Playing Fields and McCormacks Bay from 7:30am, so you can catch the bus to your start line. Drivers will not accept cash on the bus. Please show the driver your e-ticket confirmation (printed out or on your smart phone) or on the day red wristband as your ticket as you board the bus. The last bus to the 14km start line will leave at 8.15am from McCormacks Bay. The last bus to the Sport Canterbury 6km start line will leave at 9.15am from McCormacks Bay.

Buses will be allocated to each start line, however the 14km Bus will drop people off at the 6km on the way back, so families can travel together. Please note the Sport Canterbury 6km drop off location is on Opawa Road near Ford Street where it’s about an 800m walk to Hansen Park. Unfortunately it’s just too congested to get buses any closer.

 

Bus After the Event:

Parked at McCormacks Bay 

A free shuttle will operate from the Ferrymead Playing Fields (finish area) back to McCormacks Bay car park for those who parked there.

 

Parked at either start line?

Buses back to the start lines will operate from the Ferrymead Playing Fields between 10am to 1pm. Please show the driver your e-ticket confirmation (printed out or on your smartphone) or on the day red wristband as you board the bus.

 

There will be limited bus sales on the day. We recommend you book in advance.

There is no bus service between the 14km at Centennial Park and the Sport Canterbury 6km start lines, the 14km bus will go back via the 6km start line.

Buses will have wheelchair and pram access- but please fold your prams down.

Marshals & volunteers will be assisting you on the day & can answer any questions.

Children 10 years old and under on march 19 ride free with a participating adult.

You only require a ‘Before the event’  or  ‘After the event’ bus ticket.

 

 

Please note that you will need to show your e-ticket, either on your smart phone or printed out to the driver, or show your on-the-day red wristband.  You can book your bus ticket when you register  Enter Now

Parking?

We highly recommend that you park your vehicle at McCormacks Bay for free, and then bus to either start line. Marshals will be there to assist parking from 7am.

If you decide to park near either start line before the event begins; please be aware that parking is very limited. Please allow at least 45 minutes before the event begins to find a park down residential side streets. Marshals will not be assisting with parking around the start lines.

Parking is also limited at the Finish area.
